Sorry, I am late

Last Tuesday 20th, I was late because of the traffic. I didnt espect that but FOVIAL was reparing a street near Mejicanos so the traffic was super heavy, I arrived about one hour late!

Teacher Orlando explained to us about Lesson plannig a PPP class, he shared with us a PPP example and explained how to prepare it.

We learned how the lesson plan and presentation should match. Here we can do the sadwich effect

First Warm-up, presentation, practice, production and warm-up again! In each stage we have to specify the aim of the activity, materials we will use, type of learners and interaction.

Then teacher organize the class delivery  dates for each group. My group date is on October the 4th and our topic is Second conditional.

And this is all for today, thank you for reading.

ROUND 2 AKA PERIOD 2

Hi everyone, I'm sorry for being away so much, but I haven't feeling very well these days.Don't tell anyone but I think I'm suffering depression I ask for your prayers.

Well, we started round two and on Tuesday 13th teacher Orlando explained to us about grades and evaluations for this round, and I actually lost the second forum of the week. Just 3 simple questions that I didn't answer.

1-  Tell me about one speaking activity that one of your teachers ever performed, and that you still remember very well. Why do you think it caught your attention so much? It was an activity about countries and culture and different groups had to represent a country, my groups was Brazil and its carnival, I learned a lot about that country and what caught my attention was how creative my classmates and I were for that activity.

2-Do you remember how your composition teachers taught you how to write essays? What did they do? What activities do you think were very useful in those lessons? Why?

I loved this class because miss Brendaly is a very good teacher, and she also asked us for a blog to practice what we learned in her classes and that was useful, and I really enjoyed it.

3) If you were a teacher, would you like to teach speaking? Writing? Or both equally? Why? Equally, since both of them are very important.

We also make 8 groups of 4 students to prepare a class demonstration.

I had to move from my friend's group because we are five, so I'll be working with Marilyn, Gabriela Mercedes and Sarai. Our topic is Second conditional, I hope we will do an excellent job. Our due date is this coming October 4th

My favorite part of that class was realizing that we are super close to graduation day and teacher Orlando will prepare a closing ceremony, I'm super excited about it!

Grades & Plans

On September 8th, the class was a little bit different...

The teacher's computer was not working, so we had to wait for a technician to fix it.

Then we got our GRADES! Some of my classmates were nervous about it, others already knew they are masters in this class.

The first grade reveal was our Midterm, once we have it the teacher and the whole class review it together.

For some of us it was a pain in the neck lol, terrible grades! Look at the teacher reaction, fortunately my average grade for the first period was good, but I know I can do it better next period

.

After reviewing our grades and tasks for the past period, the class started with a group discussion about the questions in the first forum of the last week, it was about plans, in education and life in general, I had the opportunity to share my personal experience about how I envision my life when I was 18.

Finally, we learned about the difference between Aim, Objective and Competencies:

Aim is super general
Objective is getting specific but still not enough
Competence is a more elaborate idea and more specific.

And about the importance of lesson plans for education, lesson plans tells you how prepared the teacher is, but you can be flexible, deviate momentarily just for valid reasons.

At the end of the day, my friends and I went out for a coffee to celebrate we completed our first period!

Thank for reading, see you next week!
