Different learning styles-Learning methods

 Hi everyone,

I'm sorry for the delay, but I've been sick, I got flu and sore throat, so I couldn't go to classes the week before vacation.

On July 26th the class was about the teaching methods fortunately, I have some notes about that topic from the past semester and teacher Orlando told us it is ok to share notes and previous knowledge from Didactics I.

When it comes about teaching, we can choose from a variety of principles and strategies used for classroom instructions, so this is what we call TEACHING METHODS.

There are two paths to choose, the first one is teacher-centered and the second one is student-centered. The main difference between them is that a learner-centered class facilitates a more collaborative way for students to learn.

Going back to the teaching methods, we have:

  • The grammar-Translation Method
  • The Direct Method
  • Audio Lingual Method
  • TPR Method

My favorite one is the Direct method because I feel more encourage using the target language by recreating real situations, I can interact with my classmates, and it feels like a more natural way to acquire the language.

And last but no least, we had to do an activity to discover what kind of intelligence we have, I haven't done it yet, but I will share you the results in my next entry.

Thank you for reading and see you soon!
